Do you think this guy (Jamal) who has many years of choreographical background is super upset that he has worked on projects like “Hairspray” and “Step Up” and has now resorted to choreographing such nonsense for the likes of Miley Cyrus? Maybe. Though I’m sure he’s profiting well from this…

Anyway. This is ridiculous. Even by my standards. Makes me somewhat sick. Hannah Montana should not have a “crew”…

Jonas Secrets-really?

It kind of breaks my heart and brings back hardcore nostalgia to see this blog. These postcards (or whatever they are) in general remind me of my obsession with *Nsync a few years ago. Especially the one that reads something along the lines of:

“They don’t even know what it is to be a fan, ya know? To truly love some silly piece of music, some band so much it hurts.”

I know that that is honestly how I felt about everything involved with Nsync. I also think these feelings right now have a lot to do with the fact I just finished “Out of Sync”, Lance’s autobiography. Whatever. I’m really glad to know that the obsession will carry on into other generations. The heartracing, unhealthy, mind consuming desire that comes with being a true fan of Nsync, the Backstreet Boys, the Beatles, and now, The Jonas Brothers…It almost brings us all together.

There have been more than a few articles questioning the viability of The Daily Show in a post-Bush world. It’s been a long time since I watched The Daily Show daily, but I’m confident it’s going to be fine. USA Today (usually a bastion of quality reporting) is flat out wrong when they say The Daily Show was “gentle” with the new guy on innauguration night. Watch this clip, where Jon Stewart lets us know he’s got his eye on Obama.

I just spent a half-hour parked outside my apartment with my cab driver. His words:

“I was born in Haiti. I was top of my class. I was intelligent.

“When I came to America, I went to public school. The teachers wouldn’t listen to me. I had financial problems and went to a welfare office. They wouldn’t help me. I spent five days homeless in a train station. I went to the top of a building and thought about jumping off. I thought that this country was no place for a black man. I thought that this skin didn’t belong here.

“Yesterday, I felt my intelligence coming back.”

After this - no kidding - I shook his hands with both of mine, and he kissed my hands, and said “I love you, man.” I told him I loved him too.

If this election gives the country even remotely the sense of connectedness it just gave me, then we’re going to be okay.

I googled “beauty” out of curiousity. I looked at the pictures. There were many ‘beautiful’ women and some flowers. This was there too. I like it. I like the idea it presents…beauty is cultural. I think I like this culture…
